MICRON FILTRATION SYSTEM®

The Kleenoil Filtration System is a multi-purpose fluid cleaning and transfer rig, which is available in different models. The system can be used to clean most mineral oils such as hydraulic, gear and transmission oils, diesel type fuels and many soluble oils and fluids. In its static form, it can be permanently connected to large fluid reservoirs where the machines and engines are in constant use. As a mobile trolley it has a wide variety of applications, such as oil and fuel transfer and rotational cleaning of factory machinery.

SALIENT FEATURES:

  • Removes contaminant particles down to less than 0.5 microns

  • Removes water content from oil to less than 0.25% up to capacity of cartridges

  • Prevents corrosion of components

  • Reduces component wear (seals, piston rods, pumps etc.)

  • Reduces the incidence of sticking & worn value components

  • Extends life of in-line OEM filters and components.

  • End to the need to change hydraulic fluids

  • All properties of oil being cleaned are maintained

  • Filter cartridge can be changed within minutes.

  • No machine downtime as oil is cleaned continuously while machine is in operation

  • Simple to operate

  • Used in industries world-wide

  • Can be used with virtually any petroleum/synthetic based oil

* Filter / Flow rate: It is impossible to state an exact rate because it depends on many factors such as viscosity, temperature, degree of contamination of fluid, pump pressure and degree of contamination of cartridge. As an approximate guide, the flow/filter of 32 sec. hydraulic oil at room temperature through new Kleenoil cartridge has been given above.

OPERATION:

The system is operated by a push button.
Green Button: Start; Red Button: Stop
Two neon lamps indicate the state of the electrical connection.
Red Light - Power Connection; Green Light - Motor Pump running.
The System is designed to run unattended as safety equipments are installed:
a. Overload Relay Circuit with restart button
b. Pressure Cut-out Switch: set at 4.0 kg/cm2
c. Hour Meter.

STARTING:

When using the system for the first time or when the pump has been standing idle for a long period, the

pump should be filled with liquid of the type to be cleaned. To do this, pour the oil into the pre-filter inlet

until it overflows. If the motor has cut-out automatically, the trip light will come on. The reset button must

be pressed and subsequently the green "ON" button again.

MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE AND VISCOSITY OF OILS BEING CLEANED.

80° Celsius and 200CST

COLD STARTING:

For oils with a high viscosity, the pressure switches which are fitted as a protection on the system may cut the motor on start-up. Each system is fitted with a pump by-pass (relief valve), which should be opened to relieve the pressure until normal operating temperatures are reached.

NORMAL RUNNING:

The initial operating pressure with oil at normal temperature and with new filter cartridges should be set at a maximum 3kg, by use of the pump by-pass. For thicker oils, this may mean that the pump by-pass (relief valve) may have to remain partially open.

CHANGING THE CARTRIDGES:

The cartridges must be changed when the oil pressure reaches 2 bar above normal operating pressure, or when the automatic relief value of the pump has been activated at 4 bar. For cartridge change, please refer to the cartridge change instruction sheet.

CLEANING THE PRE-FILTER (Y-STRAINER):

Systems are fitted with a 650 micron SS Cartridge pre-filter as standard. If there is a drop in the operating pressure, it is likely that the pre-filter is blocked. In any event, the pre-filter should be cleaned at each Kleenoil cartridge change.

TRANSFER PUMP ACTION:

To use the system as a transfer pump, remove the outlet (filtration) hose and re-connect to the transfer outlet.
