Brake Caliper Production Aided By Eclipse Magnetics

Components are also supplied to a large number of off-road construction and materials handling vehicle manufacturers such as JCB, Lancing Linde, Scarab and Boss Trucks as well as brake systems for many electric utility vehicles.

Caparo AP Braking’s commitment to investing in technology that will assist in its on-going quest for continuous improvement is typified by the company’s recent purchase from Eclipse Magnetics.  In an effort to further improve the important surface finish of the bores located in the company’s brake calipers, Caparo AP Braking has recently fitted an Eclipse Magnetics Filtramag filtration system to its Chivon F215W Vertical CNC machine-tool.    

Company Manufacturing Engineer, Steve Smith explained. “ Our new Filtramag from Eclipse Magnetics efficiently removes both ferrous and paramagnetic particles from the coolant used within our brake caliper, manufacturing cell. The absence of these particles has made a significant contribution to the quality of our brake caliper bores’ surface finish."
